The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide essential patient care services within a long-term care facility, supporting residents with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. Reporting directly to a Registered Nurse, the CNA will play a critical role in monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and maintaining infection control standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately
- Support patient mobility using appropriate aids and perform extensive physical assistance and lifting
- Maintain strict infection control protocols
- Document medical information clearly and timely
- Sanitize medical equipment regularly
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor patient safety and respond appropriately to risks
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in patient care and vital signs monitoring
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated empathy and compassion toward patients
- Effective time management abilities
- Teamwork orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program
