About this position

*Position summary*

Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.

*Ferny* is a fertility and gynecology practice with four locations across Manhattan. We brought everyday gynecology and advanced fertility care under one roof because women were tired of starting over with a new specialist every time their life changed.

*That model only works if the technology holds it together. *The record has to follow the patient. Her lab result has to reach her before she calls to ask. Her physician needs the whole picture in the room, not after the visit.

_*We are hiring a Director of Healthcare Technology to build that.*_

*WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT*

Most healthcare technology jobs are custodial. You inherit an aging EMR, a standing backlog, and a mandate to keep the lights on. This one is not that. You will run our EMR evaluation and choose the platform — the RFP, the demos scripted against our actual workflows, the reference calls, the recommendation to leadership. Then you will implement the system you chose and own it afterward. Very few people in this field get both halves. You make the call, and then you live with it.

*WHAT YOU WILL OWN*

* EMR selection and implementation, end to end — evaluation, configuration, data migration, integrations, testing, training, cutover, and stabilization, then ownership of the platform through releases and optimization.
* Integrations across our EMR, reference labs, billing, clearinghouse, patient platforms, analytics, and call center — including the HL7, FHIR, API, and file-based interfaces, plus the mappings, monitoring, and reconciliation that keep them reliable.
* Analytics and reporting that clinical, operational, financial, and marketing leaders all trust, because you settled the definitions with them before publishing. Provider and site performance, patient conversion, wait times, notes completion, billing, call center activity, and patient satisfaction.
* AI implementation for clinical documentation, prior authorization, billing, and call center workflows — vendor reviews, BAAs, security review, rollout, and the controls for PHI, human review, auditability, and clinical risk. Then measuring whether it actually worked.
* Patient experience technology — scheduling, registration, communications, forms, records, lab results, education, and portal access. Program and vendor delivery — turning approved priorities into projects with owners, milestones, and acceptance criteria vendors are held to. Concise status reporting to our Interim CTO, with blockers raised early.
