Spicy Moon is a popular NYC vegan Sichuan restaurant known for bold flavors, delicious food, and a fun, fast-paced atmosphere. We're looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Kitchen Porter to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the entire restaurant, including the kitchen, dining areas, restrooms, storage spaces, and dishwashing stations.

  • Sweep, mop, and clean restaurant floors and work areas throughout the entire establishment, not just the kitchen.

  • Regularly clean and sanitize restaurant surfaces, equipment, and high-traffic areas.

  • Remove trash, recycling, and cardboard regularly.

  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, sinks, drains, and garbage areas.

  • Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing storage, and putting away supplies.

  • Follow NYC Department of Health sanitation and food safety standards.

  • Assist kitchen staff with basic prep and other tasks as needed.

  • Complete daily opening, closing, and deep-cleaning responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Previous dishwasher or kitchen porter experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

  • Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and detail-oriented.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
