Job DescriptionJob Description

The Welder plays a critical role in constructing and repairing metal structures using advanced welding techniques. This position involves leading small welding teams with autonomy and no travel requirements. The ideal candidate will be CWI certified and experienced in both new construction and repair projects, adept at reading blueprints, fabricating metal components, and maintaining strict safety standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding, cutting, and brazing using MIG, TIG, and hand welding equipment
  • Plan work order procedures, gather tools, and prepare materials following specifications
  • Repair and fabricate equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques
  • Monitor welding to prevent overheating, distortion, and damage to parts
  • Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces accurately
  • Maintain and organize welding equipment and work area
  • Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials
  • Lead small welding teams ensuring productivity and safety compliance
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for precise fabrication
  • Lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds as required

 

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of welding experience
  • Completion of a formal welding apprenticeship
  • CWI Weld Certification
  • Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead components
  • Strong manual dexterity and close-range vision for precision work
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding
  • Experience with blueprint reading and metal fabrication
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and physical stamina
