Asphalt and concrete construction company seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service and maintain construction equipment, pavers, trackhoes, dozers, rollers, skid steers, heavy trucks, and trailers. This role supports a mixed shop and field team, reports to the Operations Manager, and includes work at local job sites with occasional out-of-town assignments.
Compensation based solely upon knowledge, experience, and capability.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Repair diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems.
- Service and repair brakes.
- Inspect equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs.
- Replace worn or damaged parts.
- Provide maintenance support in shop and field environments.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of heavy machinery systems, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Valid Class D driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with diesel engine repair and hydraulic systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and electrical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
