Reports to: Director of Security

The Armed Security Driver is responsible for providing secure transportation and movement support for company executives, visitors, and designated personnel. Acting as an integral member of the Executive Protection and Corporate Security team, the role operates company vehicles, conducts route and venue assessments, maintains vehicle readiness, and supports the safe movement of executives and other protected assets.

The Armed Security Driver serves as a protective asset rather than a traditional chauffeur. The position works closely with Executive Protection personnel and maintains vigilance for threats, surveillance, suspicious activity, and operational risks while ensuring safe, discreet, and professional transportation services.

Essential Functions

Executive Transportation & Protective Driving

  • Provide safe, secure, and discreet transportation for executives, board members, visitors, and authorized personnel.

  • Operate company vehicles utilizing defensive and protective driving techniques.

  • Maintain situational awareness during all movements and identify potential security concerns.

  • Adjust routes and schedules as necessary to address traffic, protests, demonstrations, accidents, weather conditions, or emerging threats.

  • Coordinate movement activities with Executive Protection personnel and Security leadership.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding executive schedules, travel plans, locations, and security operations.

Route Planning & Movement Operations

  • Develop primary and alternative travel routes for recurring executive movements.

  • Conduct route surveys and assess risks associated with travel locations.

  • Identify hospitals, law enforcement facilities, and emergency response resources along travel routes.

  • Monitor transportation conditions and provide timely updates to security personnel.

  • Support advance planning for executive travel, events, and meetings.

Vehicle Readiness & Asset Protection

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles remain mission ready.

  • Verify operational readiness of communications equipment, emergency kits, and safety equipment.

  • Maintain fuel levels and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Ensure vehicles remain secured and inspected whenever custody has been interrupted.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.

Security Operations Support

  • Observe and report suspicious activities, surveillance indicators, criminal activity, security concerns, and operational risks.

  • Support corporate security initiatives, special events, site visits, and executive meetings as assigned.

  • Assist with facility security operations during periods not assigned to transportation duties.

  • Support emergency response and business continuity activities when required.

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and first responders when appropriate.

Executive Travel Support

  • Assist with executive arrivals and departures at airports, hotels, conference centers, and corporate facilities.

  • Load, secure, transport, and account for executive baggage and equipment.

  • Support travel logistics and movement coordination.

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and security checks for rental, contracted, or temporary-use vehicles.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete movement logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.

  • Report safety concerns, accidents, security incidents, and suspicious activities in a timely manner.

  • Participate in security briefings, after-action reviews, and training exercises.

  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Florida Class D Security Officer License.

  • Active Florida Class G Statewide Firearm License.

  • Active Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License (CCW).

  • Minimum three (3) years of professional armed security, executive transportation, law enforcement, military, or related experience.

  • Formal defensive or protective driving training (EVOC or equivalent).

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and ongoing security screening.

  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one.

  • Strong knowledge of South Florida roadways, airports, transportation networks, and emergency services.

  • Strong judgment, professionalism, discretion, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive Protection experience supporting senior executives.

  • Corporate security experience within a multinational organization.

  • Current or former law enforcement, military police, or government security experience.

  • LEOSA-qualified (18 U.S.C. § 926C).

  • Close Protection or Executive Protection training.

  • Advanced medical, tactical medicine, or trauma response training.

  • Experience supporting C-suite executives or board members.

  • Multilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish.
