About this position
The Lunchroom is looking for a part-time Baker to join our team at our Plaza del Lago location in Wilmette. This position will work mornings and days to make baked goods for our café menu, grab and go cases and catering business. We offer a small team where all team members’ contributions are valued.
The Lunchroom sits inside SPACE 519, recently featured in The New York Times, one of Chicago’s top fashion and lifestyle destinations. Located in the recently revitalized historic Plaza del Lago shopping center, SPACE 519 is a small department store featuring The Lunchroom, a 40-seat breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch restaurant with an all-day café. The Lunchroom is winner of “OpenTable Diner’s Choice’, Chicago Magazine’s ‘Hot List’, and Modern Luxury ‘Brunch Buzz.
The Baker will be charged with baking scones, sweet and savory muffins, cookies, tarts, cakes, quiches, and other baked goods including doughs. This position does not work with laminated dough.
Our ideal candidate will be organized and precise – with an eye towards consistency and quality. They must be able to diligently follow restaurant recipes and upon proving him/herself may also be asked to develop recipes for new items.
