Swiss CNC Lead Machinist / Setup Operator / Programmer
Location: Sparta, WI
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site, Permanent
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Swiss CNC Lead Machinist / Setup Operator / Programmer to support CNC machining operations in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Swiss-type CNC machines, programming, setup, quality inspection, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate Swiss-type CNC machines.
- Lead floor operations and provide training and guidance to machining staff.
- Perform quality inspections using CMMs, vision systems, and other inspection equipment.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure parts meet required specifications.
- Manage raw material inventory and coordinate component ordering.
- Assist with production scheduling and workflow management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize machine operations.
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience with Swiss CNC setup and programming.
- Strong machine shop and CNC manufacturing background.
- Knowledge of GD&T and technical drawings.
- Experience using CMMs, vision systems, and precision inspection tools.
- Strong computer skills.
- Previous leadership, training, or mentoring experience.
- Experience with material ordering, inventory, or production scheduling is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
