Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Excavator Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery, primarily excavators, to assist in various construction projects. Your expertise will ensure efficient site development, excavation, and material handling while maintaining safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects and work with a dedicated team committed to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling rigs to perform excavation, grading, loading, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery before and after use to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with site clearing, trenching, foundation digging, and material movement across construction sites.
- Coordinate with project managers and crew members to execute work plans efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate operation logs and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow all safety protocols and construction regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
- Support additional tasks such as paving operations or water truck management as needed on the project site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, or horizontal drilling rigs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience driving heavy vehicles like dump trucks or water trucks.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in various construction activities including paving and grading.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment models is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read technical manuals and safety instructions clearly.
