Seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine APP for potential locum tenens coverage in Grundy, Virginia.
The APP will support Emergency Department care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries in a community hospital setting.
Emergency Department Details- Annual ED volume: approximately 10,000 visits
- 9 ED beds
- 4 Fast Track bays
- Admission rate: approximately 11%
- Transfer rate: approximately 9%
- EMR: CPSI
- Specific APP shift schedule: To be confirmed
- Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients within scope of practice
- Perform histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing
- Develop treatment and disposition plans
- Coordinate with supervising/collaborating physicians as applicable
- Assist with stabilization and transfer of higher-acuity patients
- Complete accurate and timely documentation
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred
- Appropriate state licensure
- DEA as required
- Appropriate emergency certifications as required
- Comfortable practicing in a community Emergency Department
