The program requires extensive environmental compliance, construction monitoring, stakeholder coordination, and public engagement to support successful delivery of these important infrastructure projects.

About the Role

As Technical Engagement Coordinator, you will coordinate environmental monitoring and compliance activities while supporting public engagement and day-to-day engagement team operations across a major, multi-billion-dollar NYC construction program. Based at 777 3rd Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, this role will work closely with Design-Build teams, Independent Environmental Monitors (IEMs), consultants, regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and the broader engagement team to monitor compliance, address concerns, and support effective project communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track environmental records, permits, approvals, monitoring documentation, commitments, and corrective actions across the program.
  • Review IEM and Design-Builder reports, field observations, and monitoring data to identify concerns, trends, and potential compliance risks.
  • Conduct field visits and respond to non-compliance issues, monitoring exceedances, and environmental incidents; support appropriate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Design-Build teams, IEMs, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies regarding environmental compliance and monitoring activities.
  • Review Construction Air Monitoring Plans (CAMPs) and environmental monitoring equipment and activities.
  • Prepare and review public-facing reports, informational materials, and presentations.
  • Attend public meetings and community outreach events and draft or evaluate responses to environmental and construction impact inquiries.
  • Lead internal compliance meetings and track community concerns, action items, and resolutions.
  • Manage shared files, meeting minutes, reports, presentations, and other engagement team documentation.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and technical support to the engagement team.

Requirements

  • Degree and relevant professional experience in environmental compliance, environmental monitoring, construction oversight, infrastructure project delivery, or a related field.
  • Experience reviewing noise, dust, and vibration monitoring data, compliance reports, and environmental mitigation measures.
  • Knowledge of NYC environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Strong technical and public-facing written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and maintain accurate compliance and engagement documentation.
  • Design-Build and public works experience is a plus.

What We Offer

  • $110,000 target salary based on qualifications and experience.
  • Paid benefits package, PTO, and 401(k) with match.
  • Full-time, on-site position at 777 3rd Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
  • Opportunity to support a major, multi-billion-dollar public infrastructure program spanning four NYC boroughs.
  • High-visibility role combining environmental compliance, construction monitoring, technical reporting, and public engagement.
  • Opportunity to work alongside Design-Build teams, environmental monitors, consultants, agencies, and community stakeholders on significant NYC public works projects.
