Cashier / Barista — Matcha & Soft Serve
Lulu Dae's just opened in Strawberry Village and Mill Valley has found us fast. We serve acai bowls, soft serve, smoothies, musubi, poke, and matcha. We are looking for people who love the rush as much as we do.
We're looking for a sharp, steady Cashier/Barista to own the front counter, with a focus on our matcha program and soft serve station.
Who you are
You light up when the line gets long. You genuinely like people: the regular who orders the same bowl every day, the family of 6 who can’t decide what to order, the hiker coming down off Mt. Tam who needs a smoothie right now. You understand that your job is to make every customer feel welcome and get them what they came for quickly, without sacrificing quality. They shouldn’t have to work to get your attention. You’re friendly, quick on your feet, and happy to jump in wherever the team needs you.
What you'll own
Matcha bar. You'll prepare every matcha drink on the menu, from whisking to finishing, to spec and on time. You'll also prep and batch matcha bases and components ahead of service so the line never slows.
Soft serve. You'll run our two Taylor soft serve machines through every shift. That means monitoring texture, temperature, and output so every cup and cone is consistent. You'll track hopper levels and give the kitchen advance notice when a new batch is needed, before a cavity runs low.
Front counter. You'll take orders and payments on our POS, guide guests through the menu, and keep the counter, bar, and station clean, stocked, and service-ready.
What we're looking for
- Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays
- Barista or café experience preferred; matcha experience is a strong plus
- Clear communicator who keeps the kitchen in the loop without being asked
- Precise and consistent: you notice when a drink or swirl is a little off and fix it
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- California Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain before hire date)
