About this position

Kythira NP, an upscale Greek seafood restaurant by Chef Nicholas Poulmentis, is now open at 32 Grand Street in SoHo. We are hiring full-time and part-time Bartenders and Food Runners for our team.

We are looking for people with experience in upscale or fine-dining restaurants who take pride in precise, warm, unhurried service. Our wine list is almost entirely Greek and our cocktails are built around Mediterranean spirits — curiosity matters more than prior Greek experience, and we will teach you the rest.

BARTENDER

  • Prepare classic and signature cocktails to spec, quickly and consistently
  • Serve wine by the glass and bottle, and guide guests through a predominantly Greek list
  • Look after bar guests through a full dinner service — greeting, food orders and the check
  • Support the dining room with service-bar tickets and keep pace during high volume
  • Enter orders accurately in Toast and handle cash and card payments correctly
  • Keep the bar stocked, clean and organised, and complete opening, closing and side work

FOOD RUNNER

  • Deliver dishes from the kitchen to the correct table and seat, promptly and at the right temperature
  • Describe each dish to guests as it is presented, including whole fish and shared plates
  • Work closely with the expo, servers and kitchen to keep courses timed throughout service
  • Clear and reset tables, and support servers and bussers when the room is busy
  • Know the menu, ingredients and allergens
  • Complete opening, closing and side work

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in an upscale, fine-dining or high-volume restaurant in the role you are applying for
  • Bartenders: strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits and wine
  • Professionalism, punctuality and genuine hospitality
  • Composure and teamwork during busy service
  • Familiarity with Toast or a similar POS preferred
  • Availability for evenings and weekends
