About this position

Industry: Crushing, Screening & Environmental Capital Equipment

Location: Chicago, USA (Group-Wide Role)

Start Date: Immediate

Package: $135,000 to $175,000 base + bonus + company vehicle + benefits

Kane Selection Ltd is representing a nationally recognised material processing and environmental equipment dealer operating across 14 states.

The business represents internationally recognised manufacturers across crushing, screening, recycling and environmental equipment, including crushers, screens, shredders, grinders, trommels and wash plants.

Our client is creating a new Director of Parts position to take ownership of the parts business across the entire dealer group.

The objective is clear: build a consistent, commercially focused parts operation across every branch, with a unified approach to inventory, pricing, suppliers, processes and people, and the financial performance to show it is working.

The Opportunity

This is a group-wide leadership role with genuine backing from senior management.

You will take responsibility for parts revenue, margin, inventory and operational performance across multiple branches, while developing the people, systems and commercial strategy needed to grow the function.

You will:

  • Own parts revenue, margin and inventory performance across the dealer group
  • Lead Parts Managers and parts teams across multiple branch locations
  • Build consistent processes and standards across the business
  • Work closely with sales and service teams to grow parts revenue from the installed base and rental fleet
  • Develop stronger commercial relationships with OEM and aftermarket suppliers
  • Take ownership of supplier pricing, terms and performance
  • Recruit, develop and train parts personnel as the group grows
  • Provide senior leadership with clear visibility of parts performance across each branch

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong parts background within a crushing, screening, environmental, construction or heavy equipment dealership
  • Experience leading parts across multiple branches, or managing a large and commercially successful single-site parts operation
  • A proven track record of improving revenue, margin, inventory performance or operational efficiency
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, stock turns, pricing and gross margin
  • Confidence negotiating with OEM and aftermarket suppliers
  • Experience leading managers and teams across multiple locations
  • The ability to influence performance remotely and build consistent standards across different branches
  • Good working knowledge of dealer management systems and reporting tools
  • Competence with Microsoft Office
  • A base in Chicago, or willingness to relocate
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the branch network

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the group-wide parts strategy
  • Set appropriate stock levels, replenishment and ordering policies across the branch network
  • Ensure branches carry the parts customers need without unnecessarily tying up working capital
  • Establish consistent parts pricing and margin policies
  • Standardise parts processes, reporting and performance measures across the group
  • Build reporting that gives leadership clear visibility of revenue, margin, inventory and branch performance
  • Improve stock accuracy, availability and inventory efficiency
  • Develop OEM and aftermarket supplier relationships, pricing and commercial terms
  • Work with sales, service and rental teams to identify additional parts opportunities
  • Recruit, coach and develop Parts Managers and wider parts teams
  • Achieve agreed group parts revenue and margin targets

If you are currently leading a successful parts operation within a heavy equipment dealer and are ready to take ownership of parts performance across an entire dealer group, we would like to hear from you.
