About this position

Mythily is a progressive South Indian restaurant in the heart of Williamsburg, led by Top Chef alum Rasika Venkatesa. 

We are seeking a part time Host for immediate hire. Compensation will be $21 per hour, plus a portion of the service pool, a 20% service charge that is added to every dine-in check that is redistributed in full as additional wages to staff, and tips.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Greet and seats guests with food and beverage menus
  • Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience
  • Manage and update the floor plan in SevenRooms
  • Observe tables and keeps track of occupied table status
  • Maintain clear communication with the Servers, General Manager, and Chef about special guests, special events, and guest dietary restrictions
  • Take guest information and quotes wait times accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area
  • Reset tables where necessary to expedite seating

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have 1 year experience in a high volume, upscale restaurant
  • Consistent availability for 2-3 shifts per week, including one weekend day
  • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs
  • Proficient or ability to learn computer skills including POS systems and SevenRooms
  • Warm and enthusiastic attitude
