About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP, Public Affairs for Markets Outside California. This senior leadership role is pivotal in advancing and protecting the company's reputation, mission, and business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrated communications, media relations, community affairs, stakeholder engagement, local government relations, executive positioning, and issues management. As the primary Public Affairs advisor to market leadership, the VP will ensure that enterprise Public Affairs priorities are effectively translated into market strategies and that local market realities inform enterprise decision-making. The role requires a strategic leader who can balance enterprise consistency with market relevance, operate as both a strategic counselor and operational leader, and maintain a visible, trusted presence in the communities served. Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in public affairs or related disciplines, with a Bachelor's degree required and an advanced degree preferred. Essential qualifications include significant experience advising senior leaders, a demonstrated understanding of healthcare delivery systems, and a proven ability to build trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The VP will lead a market-based Public Affairs team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role also involves close partnership with enterprise centers of excellence and requires the ability to operate within a matrixed organization, particularly in labor-sensitive settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in issues management, market intelligence, and a track record of success in leading integrated public affairs functions.
