Moon Rabbit is seeking a warm, organized, detail-oriented Host / Reservationist to join our team. This position is about much more than greeting guests and seating tables. We are looking for someone who understands that exceptional hospitality begins long before a guest arrives at the restaurant.
Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., Moon Rabbit is a nationally recognized Vietnamese restaurant led by acclaimed Chef Kevin Tien. Our approach to hospitality is rooted in warmth, making every guest feel like a welcomed friend in our home—through service that is thoughtful, genuine, knowledgeable, and never overly formal.
As a Host / Reservationist, you will play an essential role in shaping the guest experience, from the first phone call or reservation inquiry to the moment guests leave our dining room.
You will help manage our reservation book, coordinate seating arrangements, communicate with guests about special requests and celebrations, and work closely with our management and service teams to ensure a seamless flow of service.
This role requires someone who can balance the operational details of a busy restaurant with genuine warmth and hospitality. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, thinking ahead, anticipating challenges, and finding creative ways to accommodate guests while protecting the rhythm of service.
Most importantly, we want someone who understands that a reservation is more than a name and a time slot—it's the beginning of a relationship with our guests.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FORThe ideal candidate is naturally welcoming, exceptionally organized, and confident communicating with guests both in person and over the phone. You enjoy solving problems, pay attention to the smallest details, and can remain calm and gracious even when the restaurant is at its busiest.
Experience with OpenTable or another reservation management platform is strongly preferred, as is previous experience in a fine-dining or hospitality-driven restaurant. Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team are essential.
