Heavy Equipment Yard Worker / General Labor
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Pay: $20.00-$21.00
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a dependable Heavy Equipment Yard Worker / General Laborer for a heavy equipment parts company in Fort Myers. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and keeping equipment, parts, and the yard clean and organized.
The right candidate will assist with cleaning heavy equipment and machinery parts, pressure washing, receiving and organizing inventory, and moving materials throughout the warehouse and yard. This is a physically active position that requires working outdoors in Florida's heat and changing weather conditions.
Job Responsibilities
- Clean heavy equipment, machinery, and equipment parts using pressure washers and other cleaning tools.
- Remove dirt, grease, mud, and debris from equipment and parts.
- Pressure wash parts and equipment to prepare them for storage, inspection, or further handling.
- Assist with unloading, receiving, sorting, and organizing incoming parts and materials.
- Move equipment parts, supplies, and materials to designated storage areas and other departments.
- Keep the equipment yard, warehouse, and work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Assist with general yard maintenance, material handling, and other labor duties as needed.
- Help load and unload materials and safely move items throughout the facility.
- Follow safety procedures when handling equipment, cleaning products, tools, and materials.
- Assist team members with daily operations to keep the yard and warehouse running efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor, warehouse work, equipment cleaning, construction, or yard work is preferred.
- Experience pressure washing equipment, machinery, or parts is a plus.
- Forklift experience is helpful but not required.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in Florida's heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform physical work, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Must have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Hands-on experience in the heavy equipment and parts industry.
