This position involves the precise fitting, aligning, and welding of structural steel components. The role requires heavy experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding and fitting requirements.
- Fit and assemble structural steel components using measuring tools, clamps, and welding equipment.
- Perform FCAW and MIG welding to join steel parts according to industry standards.
- Inspect welded joints and structural assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a structural steel welder or fitter in a construction or fabrication environment.
- Experience working with heavy structural steel
- Experience with FCAW Welding
- Commitment to safe work
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
- Lift and carry materials or tools weighing up to 50+ pounds
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots as required.
