Home Theaters of South Florida is seeking an experienced hands-on AV / Low Voltage Technician and Field Lead for residential and commercial projects throughout Miami and South Florida.

We are looking for a skilled technician with strong practical experience installing, troubleshooting, and servicing audio/video, networking, automation, surveillance, and low-voltage systems.

Technical or programming experience is welcome; however, candidates must also have strong hands-on field installation experience with AV, low-voltage, networking, or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot AV, networking, surveillance, automation, and low-voltage systems.
• Pull, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6 and other low-voltage wiring.
• Install TVs, speakers, cameras, access points, AV racks, and networking equipment.
• Configure routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems, and automation equipment.
• Work with systems such as Savant, Control4, Lutron, Ubiquiti/UniFi, or similar platforms.
• Lead and supervise field technicians and installation crews.
• Review project scopes and ensure work is completed correctly and on schedule.
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, vendors, and management.
• Prepare clear service notes, project updates, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on field experience in AV, low voltage, networking, automation, surveillance, structured cabling, or similar systems.
• Experience using hand and power tools, ladders, and working in attics, ceilings, construction sites, and residential environments.
• Experience troubleshooting technical and wiring issues in the field.
• Previous experience leading technicians or installation crews.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong spoken and written English required.
• Ability to read plans, diagrams, and project scopes.
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs or more.

Experience with CEDIA, Savant, Control4, Lutron, Ubiquiti, Cisco, CompTIA Network+, fiber optics, or commercial AV is preferred.

Real-world hands-on installation experience is more important than certifications.

This position is 100% on-site and field-based in Miami/South Florida and cannot be performed remotely.

Candidates may come from AV, low-voltage, networking, IT, programming, or other technical backgrounds, but practical hands-on field installation experience is essential for this role.
