Job Summary

The Part-Time Adult Apprenticeship Instructor - Electrical provides technical instruction to adult apprenticeship students in electrical trades. The role delivers classroom instruction aligned with apprenticeship standards, develops lesson plans, evaluates student progress, and prepares adult learners with the knowledge and practical skills required for success in the electrical profession.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver effective classroom instruction aligned with approved apprenticeship curriculum and standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and student assessments.
  • Teach electrical trade concepts, safety practices, and industry procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance and learning progress.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
  • Communicate effectively with students, administrators, and apprenticeship partners.
  • Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with apprenticeship requirements, policies, and educational standards.
  • Complete required administrative and instructional duties outside scheduled class time when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Current valid Professional Master's License in the applicable electrical trade.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional electrical industry experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical trade practices.
  • Ability to effectively teach and mentor adult learners.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
  • Previous teaching, training, or apprenticeship instruction experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Virginia registered apprenticeship standards is preferred.
