Day Shift Small Parts Grinder. Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm 

Submerged Arc Welder (SAW) sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic welding equipment to join heavy metal parts using a continuously fed electrode under a blanket of flux. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting weld parameters, maintaining equipment, and ensuring weld quality on thick steel materials in high-production, industrial environments. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup: Aligning, securing, and clamping workpieces onto turning rolls or carriages.
  • Process Operation: Loading electrode wire and flux (granular material) and setting voltage, current, and travel speed.
  • Welding Application: Operating stationary or automated welding heads to produce longitudinal or circumferential seams.
  • Inspection: Visually examining welds for defects and ensuring adherence to blueprints and welding procedures (WPS).
  • Maintenance: Cleaning machines, troubleshooting equipment issues, and replacing worn parts.
  • Safety: Adhering to safety protocols, including wearing protective gear, as the process involves high heat and heavy materials.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications
    • Technical Proficiency: Experience with SAW equipment, including knowledge of wire feeders, flux handling, and weld parameters.
    • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
    • Physical Stamina: Ability to sit or stand for long periods, lift heavy components, and work at heights.
    • Certification: AWS (American Welding Society) certifications or similar qualifications are often required.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on maintaining consistent, high-quality, and deep-penetration welds
