Physical Therapist – Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic
Location: Newport News, VA
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and patient‐focused Physical Therapist to join a growing outpatient orthopedic practice. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced rehabilitation techniques and technology to help patients recover from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and musculoskeletal conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy for orthopedic and post‐surgical conditions
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, traction, modalities, and other evidence‐based interventions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Supervise care provided by Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs)
- Educate patients on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and home exercise programs
- Complete accurate and timely documentation (evaluations, re‐evaluations, daily notes, flow sheets, clinical records)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and professional practice standards
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals for comprehensive care
- Participate in team‐building activities and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education and professional development
- Engage in community outreach and health promotion initiatives
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia
- 0–2 years of clinical experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
