GENERAL SUMMARYThis position is responsible for welding on a variety of items, which may be subject to heavy stress or load. Usually welding for mechanical strength.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS•Responsible for welding a variety of items which may be subject to heavy stress or load. Usually welding for mechanical strength.•Responsible for quality of work performed in welding area.•Accountable for using caution in handling equipment, tools, and parts.•Responsible for the general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily production.•Responsible for good housekeeping practices in the welding area.•Abides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including good common sense safety practices.•Adheres to the Company Core Values: Performance Driven, Quality in All We Do, Act with Integrity and Professionalism, Collaborative Continuous Improvement, Be Safe, and Impress the Customer.•Adheres to the Company CARE Initiative: Commitment, Accountability, Responsiveness, Effort•Performs all job assignments as instructed by the Group Lead, Manufacturing Supervisor, and/or Vice President, Operations.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one-year certificate from college or technical school and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and training.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
