Welder (MIG / TIG) – Rancho Cordova, CA

2nd Shift - Swing shift - Mon - Th; 2:30pm - 1:10am (4/10 schedule)

$22 - $25

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join a manufacturing and fabrication team in Rancho Cordova. This position performs MIG and TIG welding across a limited range of material gauges, alloys, and positions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of producing high-quality welds that meet customer specifications with minimal defects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metal materials within defined specifications
  • Identify and select correct gas, wire, and welding materials for each process
  • Use oxy-acetylene and plasma torches to cut materials as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Join, fabricate, and repair metal components using appropriate welding techniques
  • Execute consistent weld types including groove, fillet, lap, butt, and full penetration welds
  • Perform multi-pass welds and stack-ups as required by job specifications
  • Fabricate and weld products to meet strict customer requirements with minimal defects
  • Perform carbon air arc cutting as required and pass testing validation
  • Develop and construct basic fixturing for welding and fabrication work
  • Straighten and correct welded parts as needed
  • Weld and repair holes up to 2 inches deep
  • Visually inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and defects
  • Inspect welding equipment and tools for wear and safety compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Operate forklifts (must maintain or obtain forklift certification)

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of sheet metal, welding, or metal fabrication experience
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, blueprints, and technical documents
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to use welding tools and equipment safely
  • Experience using MIG and TIG welding processes for basic butt and fillet welds
  • Basic math skills including addition and subtraction
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to obtain AWS D1.1 or D1.3 welding certifications as required

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with fabrication, structural welding, or production welding environments
  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and PPE compliance
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset


Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing/fabrication shop environment and requires standing, lifting, bending, and working with heavy materials and welding equipment. Safety compliance and precision are essential.
