About the Role

The Company is in search of an Assistant General Counsel with a focus on government contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advisory services and strategic guidance on a wide range of matters related to U.S. federal government contracts. This includes but is not limited to, contract formation, negotiation, performance, modification, compliance, and closeout. The role also involves overseeing legal risk assessments for bids, proposals, and ongoing contracts, as well as advising on cost allowability, contract claims, disputes, terminations, and bid protests. The Assistant General Counsel will be a key player in the negotiation of various agreements, supporting internal compliance programs, and engaging with outside counsel when necessary. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance is a critical aspect of the position. Applicants for this role at the company should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, be an active member of the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and have a minimum of 7-10 years' of relevant experience in government contracts law, preferably with a background in the defense or aerospace sector. The role requires a candidate with a strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations, as well as experience in government contract disputes, claims, and bid protests. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. US Citizenship is mandatory, and the candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred qualifications include prior in-house counsel experience in the defense or government services industry and familiarity with cybersecurity requirements in government contracting.
