We're looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and versatile line cook who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned cook to join the team at a historic Downtown Brooklyn restaurant known for its commitment to quality, hospitality, and classic cooking.

The ideal candidate has extensive professional kitchen experience, is confident working independently across multiple stations, and can adapt quickly to the demands of service. As a Tournant, you'll be expected to move seamlessly between stations, maintain consistent execution, and support the team wherever needed.

We're looking for someone who brings strong technical skills, excellent organization, and the ability to jump into a busy service with minimal supervision.

What We Need From You:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience, including at least 2 years in a high-volume, full-service restaurant. Fine-dining or similarly demanding kitchen experience strongly preferred.
  • Station Versatility: Demonstrated ability to work independently and confidently across multiple stations, including sauté, plancha, broil, fry, and garde manger.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knife skills, excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, protein temperatures, sauces, and proper food preparation.
  • Station Mastery: Set up, maintain, and break down stations efficiently while consistently following recipes, quality standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Inventory Skills: Manage inventory using FIFO practices, proper labeling, storage, and food handling procedures.
  • Organization: Prioritize prep, manage multiple tasks, and maintain speed, accuracy, and composure during demanding services.
  • Independence: Step into different stations with minimal supervision, maintain consistency, and support less experienced cooks when needed.
  • Equipment Savvy: Properly use, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Team Spirit: Communicate clearly, support your teammates, and work collaboratively to ensure smooth service.
