About this position

DONA is hiring a Community Manager to help build, grow, and manage our specialty coffee

community throughout New York City and the surrounding areas.

This is a highly social, field-based role for someone who knows the NYC coffee world and

genuinely enjoys being a part of it. The Community Manager will work closely with our Sales

and Events teams to strengthen relationships with existing partners, support local sales efforts,

stay connected to the local coffee community, and make sure we're showing up in the places

and communities that matter to our brand by representing DONA at industry events.

We’re looking for someone who knows specialty coffee firsthand, enjoys building relationships,

and feels comfortable spending much of their time out in the field - visiting cafes, checking in

with partners, dropping off samples, attending events, and helping make sure DONA is a visible

and supportive presence within the NYC coffee community.

This is not a commission-based sales role. The Community Manager’s focus is on relationship

building, account support, community involvement, events, and helping the Sales team stay

connected to what’s happening on the ground.

Required Experience:

  • 4+ years barista experience in the specialty coffee industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently and spending significant time in the field
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Availability to attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed

Preferred Experience:

  • Existing relationships within the NYC specialty coffee community
  • Experience with account management, events, wholesale, or brand representation
  • Familiarity with tea, matcha, chai, and cafe beverage programs
  • Experience participating in or helping organize coffee industry events
  • Fluency in networking and friend-making

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular check-ins and visits with existing DONA accounts throughout NYC
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with café owners, managers, baristas, and beverage teams
  • Deliver samples, products, and materials to accounts and prospective partners as directed by the Sales team
  • Assist with product education, account onboarding, and general partner support
  • Attend, coordinate, and represent DONA at local coffee events, cuppings, throw downs, festivals,
  • openings, and industry gatheringsStay connected to what is happening within the NYC specialty coffee community

Salary & Benefits: Full-time, salaried position with benefits. Starting at $66,500, with flexibility depending on experience.
