Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and diagnostic tools to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, trucks, buses, and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, and electrical system issues.
- Repair and replace diesel engine components, fuel systems, and cooling systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections.
- Use diagnostic scanners and computerized equipment to identify mechanical problems.
- Inspect and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician or Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems.
- Experience with engine diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of fuel injection systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and mechanical equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Diesel Certification preferred.
- Experience working on semi-trucks, commercial trucks, buses, or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Volvo, or PACCAR engines.
