Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join the surgical services team at Research Medical Center. In this role, you will provide exceptional perioperative care while working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Schedule

Available shifts include:

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Compensation & Incentives

  • Salary Range: $34.00 – $48.00/hour
    • Maximum rate considered for candidates with 18+ years of experience
  • Shift Differentials:
    • Nights: +$4.00/hour
    • Weekends: +$4.00/hour
  • Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis
  • Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients prior to surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and the perioperative process.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
  • Participate in briefing, time-out, debriefing, and universal protocol processes.
  • Monitor patients and recognize/respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care using evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, providers, surgical technologists, and other team members.
  • Assess and document patient conditions and changes throughout the perioperative experience.
  • Provide post-procedure education and follow-up guidance to patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent OR RN experience required.
  • Experience with both scrubbing and circulating in the Operating Room required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma required.
