About the Role:
Little General LLC is looking for a talented and passionate Cook / Line Cook to join their kitchen team in Columbia, MO! Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
- Execute line cooking duties including grilling, sautéing, frying, and plating
- Monitor food inventory, freshness, and proper food storage procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service during peak hours
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in compliance with health codes
- Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, and mise en place
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Food handler's certification is a plus
