Nurse Practitioners play a vital role in providing specialty care within small healthcare teams of 1-5 practitioners. They hold significant responsibility in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, operating with a level of autonomy that includes independent practice under physician supervision. This role demands strong clinical judgment and effective collaboration to deliver quality patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' health status and medical histories
- Diagnose and develop treatment plans for various conditions
- Manage and prescribe medications appropriately
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Proficiency in patient assessment and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking abilities
