About this position

Head of Stores – North America

Full-Time | Executive Leadership | New York, NY

Salary: $175,000 - $210,000

A globally recognized luxury fashion house is seeking a modern, progressive retail leader to oversee its North America stores organization. This role is ideal for an executive who blends operational rigor with cultural intelligence, brand storytelling, and a deep understanding of how physical retail must evolve to stay relevant.

This is a transformative position with full ownership of the region’s store fleet, people strategy, client experience, and commercial performance. The right leader will bring fresh thinking, digital fluency, and a human-centered approach to building high-performing teams.

The Opportunity

You will shape the future of North American retail for a brand known for creativity, cultural impact, and boundary-pushing design. This role requires a leader who can modernize store operations, elevate talent, and create an environment where clients feel connected to the brand’s world — not just its products.

What You’ll Lead

Retail Strategy & Performance

  • Own the North America retail P&L, driving sustainable growth across full-price and outlet channels
  • Build and execute a progressive retail strategy that blends experience, community, and commerce
  • Partner with global leadership to align regional initiatives with brand vision and long-term goals
  • Leverage data, client insights, and market trends to inform decision-making and store optimization

People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of store directors and field leaders
  • Build a culture rooted in accountability, creativity, and emotional intelligence
  • Modernize talent development programs to attract, retain, and grow next-generation retail leaders
  • Champion inclusion, representation, and psychological safety across the store network

Client Experience & Brand Expression

  • Elevate the in-store experience through storytelling, service innovation, and community engagement
  • Ensure stores reflect the brand’s evolving aesthetic, values, and cultural point of view
  • Drive clienteling excellence and omnichannel integration to deepen loyalty and lifetime value
  • Partner with Marketing and VM to deliver immersive, editorial-quality retail moments

Operational Excellence & Innovation

  • Modernize store operations with digital tools, streamlined processes, and future-forward systems
  • Strengthen inventory accuracy, shrink management, and operational compliance
  • Lead new store openings, remodels, and fleet transformation initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Planning, HR, and Finance to ensure seamless execution

Who You Are

  • 10–15+ years of progressive retail leadership experience within luxury, designer, or high-growth specialty retail
  • A modern operator who balances creativity with commercial discipline
  • A culture-builder who leads with empathy, clarity, and high expectations
  • Deeply fluent in omnichannel retail, digital tools, and clienteling platforms
  • Experienced managing multi-store regions with complex teams and diverse markets
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving change, and challenging outdated norms
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on, sleeves-up approach when needed
  • Passionate about building teams, elevating talent, and creating meaningful client experiences

Why This Role Matters

The brand is entering a new era — one defined by cultural relevance, elevated retail experiences, and bold creative direction. The Head of Stores will be a key architect of that evolution, shaping how clients experience the brand across North America.
