J.K. Schwartz, Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpenter / Deck Repair Technician to join our team. This position focuses on repairing and restoring residential decks prior to staining and refinishing projects.
Responsibilities
- Replace damaged, rotted, or deteriorated deck boards
- Repair and rebuild deck stairs, railings, posts, and structural components
- Perform precise angle cuts and custom carpentry work as needed
- Measure, cut, and install lumber accurately
- Assess deck conditions and identify necessary repairs
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards
- Work independently and as part of a crew
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
Qualifications
- Previous carpentry experience required
- Strong knowledge of deck construction and repair techniques
- Ability to perform accurate angle cuts, miter cuts, and compound cuts
- Experience using power tools, saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow project specifications
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
