Monday to Friday 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using a straightedge, combination square, caliper and/or ruler
- Welds components and assemblies using electric, gas, arc and other welding equipment
- Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
- Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances using a micrometer, caliper and precision measure instruments
- Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations
- Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
- Determines required equipment and welding method, applies knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must be able to interpret or follow drawings
- Knowledge of welding techniques
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must maintain a labor efficiency of at least 90% or higher at all times
- Must take and pass written math test
- Must take and pass forklift certification
- Ability to lift approximately 75 lbs.
Required education and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
