Position Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, psychotropic medication management, and ongoing clinical care. This role works collaboratively with a team of therapists, psychiatrists, and primary care providers to deliver person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations.
- Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with state scope of practice.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with in-house therapists and external providers on treatment plans.
- Respond to clinical crisis situations with sound professional judgment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
- Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner license, Physician Assistant
- Credentials: Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience: clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred.
