Overview:
Affiliated with Centralus Health, Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services (C.A.R.S.) was founded in 1972 and offers outpatient and residential rehabilitation services. Operating under the regulatory guidance of NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), C.A.R.S. provides its clients evidence-based, holistic clinical programming supported with a range of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options. Role:
Routine Health Management
Combination of Behavioral Health with Some Primary Care
Fulltime, M-F 7:30 am-3:30 pm
Call: Some Saturday Phone Coverage Required 8:00 am - 12:30 PM
Medication Assisted Treatment
Manage and Educate Patients Withdrawal Symptoms
Key Duties:
Promotes high level of integrated medical services to substance use disorder patients, arranging prompt assessments, visits in compliance with all timelines enumerated in regulations.
Follows agency specific protocol prior to prescribing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), including federally regulated methadone management.
Completes brief medical assessments and makes recommendations based on observed acute and/or protracted withdrawal symptomology.
Completes emergency assessments (if patient has medical needs that require the skill of a nurse practitioner) on patients, as needed.
Attends to all patient physical examinations and general medication ordering needs within allotted timeframes.
Records observations, treatments, and other pertinent information in the unified Electronic Medical Record
Communicates with Medical Director, the attending physician, as directed regarding findings from the visits and any measures to alleviate symptoms and treat illnesses.
Provides on-call support to onsite nursing and clinical staff.
Collaborates/ communicates with clinical (counseling) team the needs of patient for clinical and psycho-social interventions.
