About the Role:

The Facilities Electrician at Kha'P'O Construction in KC plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems within hospitality, tourism, and recreation facilities. This position involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment to support the unique needs of high-traffic environments. The electrician will collaborate closely with facility management and other trades to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety codes and regulations. By proactively identifying potential electrical issues and implementing effective solutions, the Facilities Electrician helps create a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall operational excellence and guest satisfaction that define the hospitality and tourism experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid electrician license or certification as required by the state or relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance or installation, preferably within hospitality, tourism, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may include climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in hospitality or recreational facility environments.
  • Certification in specialized electrical systems such as HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, or energy management systems.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and energy-efficient electrical technologies.
  • Training in first aid and CPR.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems within hospitality and recreational facilities.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal disruption to facility operations.
  • Collaborate with facility management and other maintenance personnel to schedule and prioritize electrical work in alignment with operational needs.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as company safety standards and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections to support regulatory compliance and asset management.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues to restore service and maintain safety for guests and staff.
  • Assist in planning and executing electrical upgrades and renovations to improve facility infrastructure and energy efficiency.
