Job Description

We are seeking experienced Lead Electricians to plan, direct, and supervise awarded projects performed by a team of electricians, apprentices, and labor candidates with interest of pursuing the field. This role is a hands-on journeymen-level position working in accordance with assigned Project Managers, estimators and office support to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and coordinate electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for power, lighting, and communication systems
  2. Read and interpret assigned and reviewed blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
  3. Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes
  4. Review estimated labor, materials, and equipment needs, track job performance and productivity
  5. Perform skilled journey-level electrical decision work as needed
  6. Train, mentor, and motivate team members
  7. Inspect work for quality, code compliance, while meeting mandated company standards

 

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years field work experience in commercial, industrial or retail environments (Preferred)
  • Tablet-Proficient
  • Journey-level electrician with strong leadership experience
  • Ability to supervise crews and coordinate multiple job tasks
  • Solid understanding of electrical codes, safety practices, and construction methods
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including emergency callouts for assigned projects
  • Be able to work in the Chicagoland area and possible edges of the Wisconsin & Indiana area

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, confined spaces and lifting
  • Ability to lift objects around 50lbs
  • Work in various weather conditions (if required)
  • Skilled and safe operation of lifts, power tools, testing instruments, and electrical equipment
