Junior Social Video Creator — Restaurants & Hospitality - Brooklyn, NY | Full or Part-Time / Freelance

Redwood Hospitality is looking for a junior video creator to help us make more short-form video across our restaurants and bars in Brooklyn.

We’re not looking for big productions or highly polished commercial work. We’re looking for someone with a good eye who understands how people actually consume restaurant, food, and nightlife content now — Reels, TikTok, quick edits, behind-the-scenes moments, people, food, drinks, service, and the energy of a busy restaurant.

This could be a great fit for someone early in their career who wants to get more involved in the restaurant and hospitality world and build a strong body of work along the way.

What you’d do

• Shoot short-form video at our restaurants, bars, events, and occasional behind-the-scenes moments
• Edit content primarily for Instagram Reels and TikTok
• Find interesting moments rather than relying on heavily staged shoots
• Capture food, cocktails, wine, chefs, bartenders, staff, guests, spaces, and the general life of the restaurants
• Work with our team on ideas, but also bring your own instincts about what feels current and worth filming
• Turn footage around quickly enough that the content still feels relevant
• Help us experiment and figure out what works as we build a much stronger video presence

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need years of professional experience.

You should have:

• A strong visual eye
• Good basic editing skills
• A real understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and short-form video
• An instinct for pacing, music, humor, personality, and what makes someone stop scrolling
• Comfort shooting on an iPhone or a lightweight camera setup
• An interest in food, restaurants, bars, design, culture, or nightlife
• The confidence to be around a restaurant team and capture things as they happen

More than anything, we’re looking for someone curious, creative, reliable, and excited to develop their voice.

About us

Redwood Hospitality is a Brooklyn-based restaurant group behind Place des Fêtes, Cafe Mado, and Golden Ratio, with Oxalis and Laurel Bakery also part of our story.

The restaurants are pretty different from one another, which gives us a lot to work with: chefs and cooking, wine, cocktails and distillation, baking, design, service, neighborhood restaurants, events, and all of the people behind them.

We have a lot of stories to tell. We want someone who can help us tell more of them through video — without making everything feel like an advertisement.
