About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Global Membership & Volunteer Engagement Officer to lead its strategic initiatives in these areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive membership strategy, with a focus on growth, retention, and the enhancement of member value propositions. This role also involves overseeing the engagement of a large volunteer community, including the management of volunteer programs and the ASCE Foundation. The Chief Global Membership & Volunteer Engagement Officer will work closely with the executive team, Board of Directors, and volunteer leadership to ensure the health and vitality of member communities, foster a culture of belonging, and support the organization's mission. Candidates for this executive position should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least 15 years of senior leadership experience in a professional association, nonprofit, or membership-based organization. The role requires a proven track record in member engagement, volunteer program management, and community-building initiatives. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate strategy into action are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience with global association governance, and volunteer leadership models, and a deep understanding of data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication skills, the ability to build trusted relationships, and a member-centric mindset are also key competencies for this role.
