About the role


We are seeking a Transportation Planner to support and optimize last-mile delivery operations, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Reporting to the Planning Manager, this role is responsible for developing delivery plans, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborating cross-functionally to drive operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics planning, with a keen ability to analyze data, solve problems, and enhance last-mile delivery strategies. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days per week on-site in the warehouse, or more based on business needs.


What you'll do


Logistics Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement last-mile delivery plans that optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve on-time performance.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of delivery resources to meet service-level expectations.

Performance Monitoring & Analytics:

  • Track and analyze On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Cost Per Box (CPB) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to recommend operational enhancements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with transportation coordinators, facility operations managers, driver services, driver partners, and delivery service providers to enhance last-mile operations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of delivery plans and resolve logistical challenges.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify and address delivery inefficiencies, delays, and issues to improve overall performance.
  • Research and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement in last-mile logistics.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare regular performance reports with detailed analysis of OTD, CPB, and other logistics metrics.
  • Maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to transportation planning.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD): Achieve and maintain high levels of on-time delivery performance.
  • Cost Per Box (CPB): Optimize delivery costs to ensure competitive cost per box metrics.


Qualifications


Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics planning, with a strong focus on last-mile delivery.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Proficiency in logistics software and route optimization tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) and Slack.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions with an interest in utilizing AI to optimize workflows. 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.


Travel:

Travel (1 week) is possible up to once per quarter outside of the local market.

The pay range for this role is:
72,000 - 87,000 USD per year(United States)
