Job Description

Job Description

Aurora Material Solutions is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Blender/Mixer Technician to join our production team. In this role, you’ll help create consistent, high-quality blended products by safely preparing materials, operating blending equipment, monitoring batches, and keeping accurate production records.

You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone who is willing to learn, follows procedures carefully, takes pride in their work, and works well with others. Experience in manufacturing, blending, plastics, chemicals, food, or pharmaceuticals is helpful, but a strong work ethic and attention to detail are just as important.

What You’ll Do

  • Weigh, measure, and stage raw materials according to formulation sheets, batch tickets, and work orders.
  • Verify that the correct materials and quantities are ready before each blend.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor blenders, mixers, silos, conveyors, and related equipment.
  • Load and unload materials in the correct sequence and proportions.
  • Program blending times, speeds, and other equipment settings.
  • Monitor batches for consistent mixing and identify issues such as incomplete mixing, agglomeration, or contamination.
  • Take samples and perform basic quality checks, including color, texture, and homogeneity inspections.
  • Package finished products according to work order instructions.
  • Complete production logs, batch records, material usage reports, inspection forms, and other documentation.
  • Keep the blending area clean and organized, including cleaning equipment between production runs to help prevent cross-contamination.
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Work with production, quality, customer service, and material handling teams to keep operations moving smoothly.
  • Support blending trials, process improvements, and new product development as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Experience working with formulation sheets or production instructions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industrial mixing, blending, or raw material handling is helpful.
  • Good basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with others.
  • Reliable attendance and a willingness to follow established procedures.
  • Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification after hire.

Physical and Work Requirements

This position is performed in a manufacturing plant environment and may involve exposure to noise, dust, powdered or granulated materials, moving equipment, and changing temperatures.

You should be able to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance throughout the shift.
  • Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and bend for extended periods.
  • Use your hands for measuring and handling materials.
  • Read formulation sheets, computer screens, and equipment displays.
  • Safely operate a forklift.

PPE is required, and adherence to safety procedures—including chemical handling and lockout/tagout requirements—is essential.

Why Join Aurora Material Solutions?

At Aurora, safety, teamwork, and quality matter. We want our employees to feel comfortable asking questions, speaking up about safety concerns, and contributing ideas that improve the way we work. Advancement opportunities may be available based on performance and business needs.
