Miramar Lake Club is a private club in Thousand Oaks, California, and part of the Caruso portfolio. The Club is designed to deliver a highly personalized member experience across dining, recreation, wellness, and social programming.

Caruso's Trattoria is one of the Club's primary dining experiences and is built around warm, polished hospitality, thoughtful food and beverage service, and the level of care and consistency expected throughout the Club.

Position Summary

The Server is responsible for delivering polished, attentive, and personalized dining service to members and guests of Caruso's Trattoria. The role combines strong food and beverage knowledge with precise service execution, thoughtful pacing, and the ability to anticipate member needs.

Servers are expected to build familiarity with member preferences, communicate seamlessly with the culinary and service teams, and make every dining experience feel warm, confident, and effortless.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Member and Guest Service

· Greet members and guests promptly and professionally, using names appropriately when known.

· Create a warm, attentive and unhurried experience from arrival through departure.

· Recognize returning members and, when appropriate, remember preferences and previous selections.

· Anticipate needs before being asked whenever possible, while remaining discreet and unobtrusive.

· Monitor satisfaction throughout the meal, resolve minor concerns promptly, and involve management when appropriate.

Food and Beverage Service

· Maintain current knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, daily features, pricing and unavailable items.

· Maintain working knowledge of wine, cocktails, beer, non alcoholic beverages and basic pairing recommendations.

· Accurately take and enter orders in the point of sale system, including special requests, allergies and dietary restrictions.

· Coordinate timing and coursing of food and beverage service with the kitchen, bar and support team.

· Deliver and present food and beverages according to established service standards.

· Present and process checks accurately and follow all payment and member charge procedures.

Dining Room Standards

· Maintain tables throughout the dining experience, including clearing, resetting, marking and replenishing as needed.

· Keep assigned service stations clean, organized and fully stocked throughout the shift.

· Complete opening, closing and assigned sidework to established standards.

· Follow sanitation, food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements at all times.

Teamwork and Communication

· Communicate clearly with Hosts, Server Assistants, Bartenders, culinary staff and management.

· Support teammates during peak periods and help maintain smooth overall dining room flow.

· Communicate VIPs, allergies, celebrations, service concerns and relevant member preferences to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications

· Previous serving experience in an upscale restaurant, private club, luxury hotel, resort or comparable hospitality environment preferred.

· Strong food and beverage knowledge; wine knowledge strongly preferred.

· Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy, composure and professional service.

· Comfort working with point of sale and reservation systems.

· Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages in California.

· Food Handler certification and Responsible Beverage Service certification required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

Physical Requirements

· Stand and walk for extended periods.

· Carry trays, plates, glassware and service equipment safely.

· Lift approximately 25 to 30 pounds.

· Bend, reach, stoop and move frequently throughout dining and service areas.

Schedule Expectations

Flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and special events based on business needs. The Club is open Tuesday through Sunday.

Compensation and Benefits

· Hourly rate: 18.00 plus tips

· Benefits and eligibility will be provided in accordance with Club policy and employment status.
